Occupational Therapy & Neurological Rehabilitation
After a stroke, a brain injury, or while living with a long-term condition, the hardest part is often rebuilding ordinary daily life. Occupational therapy helps you do exactly that — regain the skills, routines, and independence that make a day feel like yours again.
Conditions that I treat and help with:
Stroke recovery
Traumatic brain injury
Concussion and post-concussion symptoms
Long COVID and persistent fatigue
Chronic pain
ADHD in adults
Autism in adults
Complex medical and neurological conditions
What Working together looks like
You don't have to arrive organized or knowing what to ask. Early on, much of the work is making sense of what's changed — reviewing your medical history, understanding your diagnosis, and, where it helps, coordinating with your physicians and care team so that your rehabilitation is grounded in the full clinical picture. From there, we build a plan around your actual life: your home, your work, your relationships, the things you want to be able to do again.
The work itself takes different forms. Sometimes it's relearning a skill the brain or body has lost. Sometimes it's building new strategies to work around what's changed. Sometimes it's reshaping your environment or your routines so they support you rather than drain you. Progress isn't always linear, and the goal isn't to rush you back to who you were — it's to help you rebuild a life that genuinely works for who you are now.
Additional support at home
For clients who would benefit from additional support, I work with a trained rehabilitation assistant who can carry out parts of your program under my direction — including hands-on practice between sessions, support with a home exercise program, and with daily tasks at home. This allows for more frequent, more affordable support while keeping your care coordinated and overseen by me.
About me as an Occupational Therapist
I have practised occupational therapy for over 26 years across various clinical settings, including acute care, intensive care, and outpatient rehabilitation, with extensive experience in complex neurological cases. I hold advanced certifications in neurological rehabilitation, including the A-ONE, Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT), and Neuro-IFRAH approaches.
I have served as a faculty lecturer at McGill University's School of Physical and Occupational Therapy and was Chair of the Neurology Practice Network at the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists — BC. I'm currently a clinical instructor at UBC's Department of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy.
Throughout my career, I've worked with very complex cases. You can feel confident that together, we'll build a path to recovery that's personal to you — one that fits your life, your priorities, and the way you want to live.
